Andrew Prentice

Just recently, Andrew Prentice was out shooting near Seymour when he was accidentally shot.  Andrew, though shaken, is set to make a recovery, however only time can tell the full extent of his injuries and his recovery.

Andrew was flown to Box Hill hospital where they removed 2 shot gun pellets, one from his thigh, the other hip/coccyx region, both missing main arteries, but still doing damage.

We wish Andrew a full recovery and the club support and also to the Prentice family.

Melbourne Weekly Article

A great article has been written by Stephen McKenzie for the Melbourne weekly, in part which highlights both the fight Panther Vice President Paul Campain has been through throughout the season just gone, as well as the efforts made by the club to lend a helping hand to Paul, especially the tireless work of NBCCC Life Member David Wood. We are delighted to hear that Paul is now in remission.

Club Sponsorship

Now that the club can have official sponsors on shirts and advertising boards, we are looking at anyone interested. We are still in early stages working out packages, but some ideas are shirt sponsor whereby cover the cost of shirts, get advertising logo and website on shirt, our website, around rooms and ground. If anyone knows of any interest, please let a member of the committee know asap so we can get the ball rolling.

Professional player

With the resignation of Brendan McArdle as coach over the past 4 seasons, we are looking at the option of a professional player, in particular a batsmen. The role is yet to be confirmed with the new committee, however before we advertise if anyone knows of an interested batsmen please contact a member of the committee. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Brendan.

The club would like to thank all those that have contributed to the past season(s), in particular those that filled roles and have resigned from their position:
Coach: Brendan McArdle
Chairman of Selectors: David Jans
Club Captain: Simon Datson

Indoor cricket

I have been running a indoor cricket side for 3 years and after the success of us having 2 sides last winter I’m looking to do it again this season. We play at Box Hill indoor. Any Panther of any skill level is welcome to play, games are mainly Wednesday or Thursday nights with the occasional Sunday. Games take less than hour. It’s short sharp and a lot of fun. Great way to improve your skills over winter. If at all interested either e-mail me at markmcnamara5@gmail.com or speak to me at the club.
